eNCA has extended its global reach even further just three months after launching its service to 10.5million households, in the UK and Ireland.
Viewers outside of South Africa can now watch eNCA streamed live via Livestation. Livestation is a London based company which streams news services from around the world, including Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN and Bloomberg.
Anyone outside of South Africa can simply log onto www.Livestation.com and click on the eNCA logo or download Livestation’s app.
Says Patrick Conroy, head of eNCA: "Being able to stream our news live to a global audience is another great leap for us. Just three months ago we launched on the Sky digital satellite platform to over 10million households in the UK and Ireland. Five years of very hard work is starting to payoff."
Conroy adds, "We've shown we can perform at a global level, and we'll continue to expand our offering. We're a great platform to showcase African businesses, brands and initiatives."
The service is however, geo-blocked in South Africa and Japan as a result of contractual agreements between eNCA, DStv and CNN.
In August this year eNCA launched its news service on the Sky Digital Satellite Platform giving the broadcaster access to over 10 million homes in the UK and Ireland. Conroy says additional distribution deals are being explored.
