The media personality allegedly failed to stop after bumping into another car in Bryanston.
JOHANNESBURG - Police have confirmed that a case has been opened against actress Khanya Mkangisa following an alleged hit and run incident.
Sunday World reported that Mkangisa failed to stop after bumping into another car in Johannesburg last week.
The actress apparently tried to get away from the scene but was chased by the police, who eventually caught her and arrested her.
She ended up spending a night behind bars.
Police spokesperson, Lungelo Dlamini, said the case has been handed over to the National Prosecuting Authority.
"Yes I can confirm that a case has been opened against Mkangisa and at this stage it has been handed over to the NPA", said Dlamini.
Mkangisa recently joined the cast of The Queen and plays the role of Akona.
