Air hostess Mavis Xotongo's act of kindness on a flight to New York is making waves on social media.
JOHANNESBURG - Kate Whalley-Hands, a South African expat, is creating waves on social media.
Her Facebook post about an act of kindness on a flight between New York and Johannesburg is drawing "oohs" and "aahs" from across the globe.
The Durban-born mother was travelling alone and struggling to put her 20-month-old baby to sleep when in walked Mavis Xotongo.
The air hostess took the baby under her wing, literally, allowing Whalley-Hands to finish her meal.
Fifteen minutes later, baby Imogen was fast asleep and a proudly South African moment was born.
