JOHANNESBURG - Babes Wodumo and her sister Nondumiso Simelane appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday.

That's after they failed to show up on Friday.

The Simelane sisters were fined and released on bail.

The two said their car had broken down on their way to court from Pietermaritzburg.

But the magistrate wasn't convinced.

They were each fined R1,000 and had to fork out R1,000 for bail.

Artist Thobeka 'Tipcee' Ndaba was given a warning.

The three are accused of assaulting a woman in Durban last month.

It happened just after Babes Wodumo laid an assault charge against her longtime boyfriend Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo.
