JOHANNESBURG - Local DJ Nkosinathi Maphumulo, better known as Black Coffee, was nominated for the American Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
The annual award show honours the year's best television, movie and music stars, with WWE wrestling star Jon Cena returning to the show due to popular demand.
2017's favourite winners were Selena Gomez, Fifth Harmony, DJ Calvin Harris and the British girl group Little Mix.
This year, Black Coffee has been nominated in the Global Star category alongside Taylor Swift, #BTS, Maluma, The Vamps and Zara Larsson.
In just January, the Pieces of Me star announced his residency at the luxurious resort Wynn in Las Vegas.
He continued to make his mark on the international stage with just having performed at the renowned Apollo Theatre in New York City on Saturday.
As per tradition at the Apollo Theatre, all performers who adorn the stage, sign the wall to leave their mark.
Black Coffee wrote, "Trust your dopeness" before adding his signature.
He then went to Twitter and said: "Waiting for more African Children to sign next to me."
