CAPE TOWN - The director of the controversial local film "Of Good Report" intends to pursue a defamation case against the Film and Publication Board (FPB) for classifying it as child pornography.

After an appeal, the film was unbanned and has subsequently been honoured with an award for artistic bravery at the 34th Durban International Film Festival.

Jahmil Qubeka, who directed "Of Good Report" has told eNCA, he has not been approached by the FPB to discuss the issue further. He said tweets by people connected to the FPB have continued to hurt him.

The film tells the story of a teacher who has a relationship with a student.
