As the COVID-19 numbers continue to drop, Durbanites have wasted no time getting out of their homes to take advantage of relaxed lockdown regulations. DURBAN - Durbanites have wasted no time getting out of their homes to take advantage of relaxed lockdown regulations.

But tourism authorities say it's going to take some time before the impact of COVID-19 can be reversed.

KwaZulu-Natal has over 22,800 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and is still reporting hundreds of new cases daily.

Under the new regulations, a maximum of 50 people are allowed at funerals, weddings, gyms, swimming pools, bars, taverns, shebeens, cinemas, theatres and concert venues.

Inter-provincial travelling around South Africa and water-based tourism activities are also allowed under Level 2 regulations.
