Guillermo del Toro's movie "The Shape of Water" won the Oscar for Best Picture.
LOS ANGELES - Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro&39;s fantastical romance "The Shape of Water" won the Oscar for Best Picture.
The filmmaker earlier won the best director Oscar.
"The Shape of Water" was hit with a plagiarism lawsuit last month that alleged its plot was lifted directly from a 1969 American stage play.
Del Toro, who also wrote the screenplay, said he had never seen or read the play.
The movie about a mute cleaning woman who falls in love with a strange river creature had gone into the ceremony with a leading 13 nominations and won a total of four Academy Awards.
