Joseph Shabalala's family announces date for funeral

JOHANNESBURG - Legendary musician Joseph Shabalala will be laid to rest next weekend.

The Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder died in a Pretoria hospital on Tuesday at the age of 78. 

His family is gathering in KwaZulu-Natal to prepare for his funeral.

"We met yesterday [Tuesday] with the family and we decided because all the members of the family have not yet arrived.

"So we decided on next Saturday, which is the 22nd," said his son, Nkosinathi.

Meanwhile, members of Ladysmith Black Mambazo will return to South Africa to attend the funeral.

The group will then return to the US to finish their tour.
