JOHANNESBURG – Over a half a century since the original production, King Kong the musical is making a comeback.
The legendary South African performances made history back in the late fifties in more ways than one.
eNCA's Tanya Nefdt caught up with the director and lead cast of the newly-revived show ahead of its run in Cape Town later this month.
King Kong, based on a true story of the rise and fall of one of the greatest heavyweight boxing champions of that time, Ezekiel Dlamini, played to record-breaking audiences.
It later moved to London's West End for a 200 performance run.
The production runs in Cape Town from 25 July and head to Johannesburg in September.
