JOHANNESBURG - Local fashion designer and businesswoman, Palesa Mokubung, has gone global after partnering with fashion giant H&M.

Mokubung's clothing label Mantsho will be sold across America, Europe, and Israel.

It’s probably the biggest partnership for any African fashion designer.

“I think H&M obviously sees a brand that can represent the whole continent and that is a huge compliment for me but also a huge responsibility. I feel grateful and overwhelmed at the same time. I mean we’re moving from one shop to the world 11 countries and 43 online stores. So it’s a little insane", the designer said.

Mukubong is not new to the game.

She’s been around for about 15 years and has dressed the likes of Ruth Carter, costume designer for Black Panther and some local A-list celebrities.
