JOHANNESBURG - Netflix has announced the first African original drama, Queen Sono, set to begin production in South Africa in 2019.
Actress Pearl Thusi, who will play the lead character in the series, took to Twitter on Sunday to announce the good news.
The series will be directed by South African comedian Kagiso Lediga with Tamsin Andersson as the co-executive producer.
