Sardines head to Durban for annual run

Excitement is building as the city gears up for the annual sardine run.

DURBAN - Something fishy is headed for Durban.

Excitement is building as the city gears up for the annual sardine run.

Experts are predicting large shoals will move past the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, soon.

Shoals of sardines have already been spotted in Waterfall Bluff in Port St Johns, south of KwaZulu-Natal’s coastline.

Last year’s run was nothing short of spectacular.

The public can freely watch the spectacle.

Permits are needed for anglers and those casting nets.
