Shark bodies discovered on Strandfontein beach

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town City officials have found a large number of baby sharks on Strandfontein beach.

Their heads, dorsal fins and tails were severed.

The SPCA says shark fins are highly prized by poachers and fetch high prices, they are are also seen as a delicacy in some countries.

Cape Town City Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason said the SPCA discovered the fish at about 09:00 on Saturday and were identified a deep water shark species.
