Soweto Gospel Choir one of SAs finest exports: Ramaphosa

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa met with members of the Soweto Gospel Choir at Market Theatre Square on Thursday.

Ramaphosa was joined by Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa to celebrate the group after they won a Grammy for Best World Music for their album Freedom.

The president congratulated the group for their third Grammy award.

"For me it's a real pleasure and a real joy to be standing here before the real heroes of the nation. People who have gone out into the world and showcased what South Africa is all about", said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa said it was important to celebrate the group and described them as South Africa's finest exports.

"You are as a choir one of South Africa's, and indeed may I add, finest exports", added Ramaphosa.
