JOHANNESBURG - The world of house music has been rocked by the death of international DJ and producer Avicii.

He died on Friday at the age of 28.

DJ Euphonik says Avicii was a pioneer in the industry and "the best of the best."

"He had a unique way of creating melodies," said Euphonik. "He was just the nicest guy in the world. He had massive success, he was humble… [an] overall nice guy."

DJ Fresh says Avicii has left a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

"Right now in SA there are so many kids making incredible music and I think it’s from seeing people like Avicii," said Fresh. "I think his legacy is well cemented. His legacy will live on for another 100 years."
