JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Art Gallery, a heritage site, is in a state of ruin.

The Gallery once housed some of the continent's greatest artworks.

The Gallery's former director, Christopher Till, says the gallery needs to come up with innovative ideas to showcase the artwork, and make it more accessible to a wider audience.
