WATCH: New 'Lion King' trailer features Scar, Timon and Pumba

Disney's The Lion King opens in theatres on 19 July 2019.

LOS ANGELES - It's exactly 100 days until the release of The Lion King.

Director Jon Favreau tweeted out the new trailer.

The new trailer gives viewers a first look at Scar and his companions, the hyenas.

Simba (voiced by Donald Glover) and Mufasa (voiced by James Earl Jones) are seen looking out on their kingdom.

"Everything you see exists in a delicate balance," Mufasa tells his son.

Leading up to Mufasa's death, Simba is seen escaping a stampede of buffalos.

The trailer also features Simba's friends, meerkat Timon (voiced by Billy Eichner) and warthog Pumbaa (voiced by Seth Rogen). 

Disney released the first full-length trailer for the live-action remake of The Lion King in November 2018.

The movie opens in theatres on 19 July 2019.
