WATCH: Remembering Marikana, 6 years on

JOHANNESBURG - Thursday will mark six years since the Marikana massacre that saw 44 people killed in the country deadliest post-apartheid wage strike.

On 12 August 2012,  34 miners were gunned down by the police. Ten people had been killed in the 10 days before the massacre.

On Wednesday, mining house Lonmin held a ceremony to remembered the deceased miners, which was attended by some of their widows.
