Another Eskom executive Dan Marokane received a golden handshake on Monday 01 June 2015, Marokane with former CEO Tshediso Matona, finance director Tsholofelo Molefe, and technology and commercial executive Matshela Koko were suspended in March.

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has denied that Gupta-owned Tegeta is being favoured for coal contracts and is satisfied due process was followed.

Tegeta now runs Optimum Coal after it took the Glencore-owned mine out of business rescue.

Eskom says Tegeta stepped in to make up a winter shortfall of coal at a reasonable price, saving the power utility billions of rand.

Eskom is backing a call by the public enterprises minister to transform the coal supply market, which it&39;s claimed benefits only a small monopoly of companies.
