JOHANNESBURG - Retailer Pick 'n Pay has announced that customers can now buy groceries on credit.

The company has decided to enter the store account market.

Pick n Pay says it has worked with RCS to design a product that has no hidden fees and the lowest possible monthly fee.

Pick 'n Pay joins the likes of Woolworths and Massmart in offering customers the option of purchasing food on credit.

There are more than 24 million credit-active South Africans.

Currently 40 percent of them are in some form of financial distress.
