JOHANNESBURG – The price of 93 and 95 octane petrol went down by 51c a litre at midnight last night.

Diesel went down by nearly 76c a litre and paraffin by 70c a litre.

The Department of Energy says the decreases are due to the drop in crude oil prices.

It’s the first time in three months that the price of Brent crude has dropped to below $55 a barrel.
