
29 January 2015 - South Africas import taxes on American chicken products have become an obstruction. The US wants to use Agoa negotiations to remove the tariffs, so its farmers can access the South African market.
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Department of Trade and Industry has opened the door to a US poultry deal.
This will end punitive duties on US chicken and renew imports after an agreement was reached Friday.
Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies says this facilitates South Africa’s continued participation in the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
