JOHANNESBURG - South Africa’s economy has continued to expand in the third quarter, after emerging from a recession earlier in the year.

The country’s Gross Domestic Product grew by 2%  in the 3 months from July to the end of September.

The largest contribution to growth came from the agricultural sector, which grew by 44.2%.

Stats-SA&39;s  figures show that household consumption expenditure also increased.
