JOHANNESBURG - At least 14 people have been arrested in Letsopa Township near Ottosdal in the North West following violent protests.
Residents went on the rampage, protesting a lack of service delivery.
Police spokesperson Sam Tselanyane say they're monitoring the situation.
"Since the violent protest erupted yesterday, we have arrested nine suspects who made a brief appearance today and were remanded in custody until their next appearance. Today we arrested five people. e are still trying to get the situation under control at the moment."
They torched a community library, a municipal office, and trucks.
The suspects are facing charges of public violence.
