61 more COVID-19 deaths in SA

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's COVID-19 death toll has increased by 61 and five of those patients died over the past 24 to 48 hours.

This brings the number of deaths in the country to 18,370.

Over 2,000 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 700,203.

The health department said 90 percent or 629,260 people have recovered.

This means the country has just over 52,000 active cases.
