JOHANNESBURG - Sent out around midday on Wednesday, the tweet on government's primary Twitter account said cigarette and alcohol sales will remain banned as long as South Africa is in lockdown.

Then, at about 5pm, GCIS said this was an error.

It meant to point out that the alcohol and cigarette ban was in place for lockdown level 3.
