Absa denies being subpoenaed by Mkhwebane


Absa says it received two subpoenas from the Public Protector in the past twelve months.

JOHANNESBURG - Absa has rejected Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's assertion that she subpoenaed the bank to provide account information relating to her investigation into President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Absa says it received two subpoenas from Mkhwebane in the past twelve months.

And that the bank had complied with both of them. 

The bank says that neither of the two subpoenaes had involved any information about Ramaphosa.
