SA lockdown | AfriForum calls for an end to curfew

It's been 20 months since the start of the country's lockdown and curfews were imposed. And some rights groups are fed up. JOHANNESBURG - It's been 20 months since the start of the country's lockdown and curfews were imposed.

But some groups have had enough.

AfriForum has written to CoGTA Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, calling for an end to the curfew.

It has given her until Friday to respond.

AfriForum's lawyer, Daniel Eloff, says the group wants to know the reasoning and effectiveness of the curfew.

"In terms of administrative law, we have a right to rational, reasonable, and informed decision-making by our government and that's simply what we're questioning," he said.
