JOHANNESBURG - Mpumalanga’s alleged rhino poaching kingpin Petrus Shenge Mabuza has been gunned down in Hazyview.

It’s understood the man also known as "Mr Big" was part of a syndicate operating in the Kruger National Park.

Mabuza has been in and out of court since 2018.

He was out on bail for illegally buying and selling rhino horn among other charges.

Police say they are still investigating the incident and are urging eyewitnesses to come forward.
