Well, the ANC in Gauteng is now joining the DA in that often-hated campaign strategy.

The ANC has also taken its election drive to the annual Rand Show.

WATCH: Will political party billboards influence your vote?

The ANC has put up a board at the Rand Show so people can pledge to vote for it.

“It's unlike the ANC forcing people to come in here, grabbing them, kicking and screaming, and saying you must pledge, it's like when you do door to door, and people tell you when you do door to door that they're going to vote for you and there are people who tell us they're not going to vote for us,” said ANC Gauteng Head of Elections, Lebogang Maile.
