JOHANNESBURG - The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has thrown its weight behind President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The president now commands support from a province with the largest ANC membership base, that once backed former President Jacob Zuma.
Provincial Secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli says the Provincial Executive Committee has been following developments around Ramaphosa and has noted moves to taint his image.
“It is perfectly clear, what lies ahead of the offensive against the President is a clear objective to divide and ultimately displace the ANC as the leader of our people, as the leader of the National Democratic Revolution. The PEC is unanimous in its firm view that the ANC President must find solace in the support from all structures and members of the ANC in Kwa-Zulu Natal during these trying times.”
The ANC KZN’s comments come as Ramaphosa continues to slug it out with the Public Protector in the courts.
In the latest developments, the President's CR17 campaign funders have been revealed.
