JOHANNESBURG - The ANC is conducting its own investigation into the formation of the African Transformation Movement.
Former secretary-general of the messianic churches in Christ Buyisile Ngqulwana claims ATM was the brainchild of ANC secretary-general, Ace Magashule.
Magashule denies the claims and is taking Ngqulwana to court.
"In our previous executive committee meeting, between June and July, we had agreed to launch a probe to look into the formation of smaller political parties, not necessarily ATM.
Subsequent to that we then went out to the public to outline the terms of reference", said ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe.
Mabe says the purpose of the investigation is to reveal the details regarding the formation of smaller parties.
"This investigation will allow us to be able to unravel the details, understand all of this, whether it is with ATM or any other smaller political party.
The terms of reference are clear, individual comrades will be invited to go and make representations before that."
