ANC veteran says Mokonyane's new appointment unexpected

Members of Parliament will be sworn in days ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosa's inauguration.

JOHANNESBURG - ANC veteran Mavuso Msimang says Nomvula Mokonyane's new appointment in Parliament is unexpected. 

The former minister has been named as the chair of chairpersons.

Msimang told eNCA,  he thought she'd be given an opportunity to clear herself of corruption allegations made at the state capture inquiry. 

Former Bosasa COO, Angelo Agrizzi, told the Zondo Commission in March that Mokonyane received R50,000 a month  from the company along with numerous gifts. 

Mokonyane has denied the allegations.
