JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has authorised the deployment of the defence force in support of police operations in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
This following the horrific incidences of violence and looting across the country.
The president said action will be taken against those who loot and continue with violence and intimidation.
The brazen looting spree and violence have continued unabated overnight despite the deployment of 2,500 soldiers to support the police.
A building has been set alight in Katlehong in Gauteng.
