JOHANNESBURG – The head of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Vaccines, Professor Barry Schoub, says they may consider suspending use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

That's after a Wits University study found that the vaccine appears to be less effective against the Covid-19 variant first discovered in South Africa.

Schoub says they need to look at a combination of vaccines that may give a good response against the variant.
