JOHANNESBURG - Health workers at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto have returned to work after a protest over protective gear.
Nurses said they were initially not provided with enough masks and protective gowns until occupational health and safety committee members intervened.

When contacted by eNCA, the hospital's supply chain head said she was not at work. She refused to comment.
Nehawu's Clement Marula said nurses were initially told that only COVID-19 ward nurses would be provided with full PPE and nurses in other areas of the hospital would only be required to wear masks and plastic aprons.
Marula said the nurses were able to be fully equipped and returned to work.
