JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Health Department has appointed a forensic investigations company to probe all issues at the Bheki Mlangeni Hospital.
The forensic team will investigate whether due process was followed after violent cases were reported at the Soweto hospital.
A blunder by the health department saw the CEO of the hospital remain in her position.
Ruth Mabyana was removed from the job after an 85-year-old man was killed there in May.
But the legal 60-day time frame for a disciplinary procedure lapsed, landing her back in the job.
Mabyana’s conduct is once again being investigated after the alleged rape of a 16-year-old psychiatric patient.

In January, the Democratic Alliance launched a petition to remove the hospital's management.
Acting Gauteng Health MEC, Jacob Mamabolo said a forensic investigation would also include finding out why the suspension period was allowed to lapse without completing the disciplinary process.
