JOHANNESBURG - It's a case of shifting blame at the state capture inquiry.
Both the current and former state protocol chiefs say they did not approve the Gupta family's 2013 Waterkloof landing.
The commission on Monday heard the testimony of former chief, Ambassador Bruce Koloane.
Koloane said he learnt of an email stating he approved the Gupta landing only after the plane had arrived.
He was later suspended for the email in a move he says was unconstitutional.
Koloane has discredited a report by the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security cluster which led to disciplinary proceedings against him.
The current chief, Jerry Matjila, also took the stand.
Matjila says he heard about the landing only after the fact through media reports.
The 2013 Waterkloof Air Force Base landing took centre stage at the state capture inquiry.
Former Transport Minister Ben Martins and Chief of Air Navigation Services Hennie Marais have testified.
The legal team is in the process of identifying other witnesses who will be called to appear before the Commission over the next few weeks.
