Boy (7) survives horror Pietermaritzburg crash

At least 16 people were killed in a horror crash on the N3 south in Pietermaritzburg early this morning. The multi-vehicle crash involved two trucks, a bakkie, two minibus taxis and five other cars. PIETERMARITZBURG - A 7-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after a horror multi-vehicle crash on the N3 in Pietermaritzburg.

He's the only survivor to emerge from a minibus taxi that burst into flames.

At least 16 others were burnt beyond recognition.

The multi-vehicle car crash involved three trucks, two taxis, a bakkie and five cars, including a Road Traffic Inspectorate vehicle.

The taxi was travelling from Johannesburg to Harding.
