JOHANNESBURG - Embattled eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede’s supporters are back at the ANC’s provincial office fighting for her to be reinstated as the city’s mayor.

Gumede’s supporters are also opposing the new regional task team in eThekwini.

The Durban mayor has been suspended for 30 days as she is charged with corruption.

Organiser of the march, Mzomuhle Dube, says that the decision to suspend Gumede sets a bad precedent.

“What we are trying to quell of here is the precedence because any decision taken by any legal structure creates a precedence,” Dube said.

"So when we sit back and say nothing it will mean that every decision that has been taken is correct.

“So to actually deal with that narrative, we have to come out in numbers and say that the decision must be reviewed.”
