CAPE TOWN - As the COVID 19-outbreak continues to spread, cabinet will hold a teleconference to discuss the response to the outbreak.

Top of the agenda is expected to be economic relief measures such as allowing certain industries to resume trading and a possible increase of social grants.

South Africa’s economy remains strained.

On Tuesday, the Reserve Bank announced an emergency repo rate cut by 100 basis points.

Cabinet is also expected to discuss the rejection of SAA's R10-billion funding request.
