JOHANNESBURG - Calls are growing for President Cyril Ramaphosa to lift the COVID-19 curfew before New Year's Eve.

"Personally, as well as from my business, the limiting of freedom not be locked in the house for four hours every day is strongly against my human rights, freedom of movement, all of that," Jorberg said.

"We all know the virus doesn't have working hours, employment at business seriously reduced, we unable to trade during our strong hours late at night, churchgoers also joining us to say they feel limited to go at night.

"I spoke to tourists, they cannot imagine going back to South Africa only to be locked up at night."
