Cashbuild profits double due to home improvements

JOHANNESBURG - Cashbuild is the latest company to score from home-based activity as a result of the lockdown.

The retailer of building materials has more than doubled its interim profit in the wake of increased home improvements.

Profit rose to R364.2-million in the period to 27 December.

It upped its interim dividend by two-thirds to R7.24 a share.

Cashbuild says it will continue its store expansion, relocation and refurbishment strategy.

But it will do so in a controlled manner because of COVID-19 related uncertainties.
