Cele praises police after foiled KZN robbery

DURBAN- Police Minister, Bheki Cele, has praised officers who killed nine suspects, linked to a foiled robbery in Isipingo, south of Durban.  

Cele says the police must be supported in the fight against dangerous and armed criminals.

A 29-year-old suspect has been arrested.  

Members of the crime intelligence, task force and K9 units pounced on a gang of would-be robbers on Saturday morning.

This followed a tip-off about a planned robbery at a business premises in the area.  

Unlicensed firearms, explosives and tools used for breaking and entering were recovered at the scene.
