JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government says a water interruption at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital was due to a supply failure from Johannesburg Water.

The water interruption was due to a valve that has been partially closed from Rand Water.

The CEO of Charlotte Maxeke, Gladys Bogoshi, said the hospital was informed on Tuesday of the problem and the hospital responded by shutting down the water supply to non-critical areas of the building.

The water supply was restored on Thursday night.
