JOHANNESBURG - There are now a total of 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Africa.
The health department says 8 cases have been confirmed since its last briefing on Thursday.
All the cases are of people who travelled overseas to Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Greece.
The new cases have been reported in Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape.
Meanwhile, the quarantine site in Polokwane has been prepared for the arrival of 122 South Africans returning from China.
The SANDF and police are on-site to make sure no unauthorised persons enter the premises.
Despite guarantees that all the people are Covid-19 free, some members of the Polokwane community are furious, that the government has chosen this as the quarantine area.
