KWAZULU-NATAL - The first South African infected with the coronavirus, has recovered.
Premier Sihle Zikalala confirmed the KwaZulu-Natal patient's recovery at a media briefing on Wednesday.
"Both he and his wife are recovering. They are now in a waiting period. They will be discharged back into their family and home."
The number of confirmed cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus in the country has risen to 116.
There has also been an increase in local transmissions.
Most of the new cases come from Gauteng, with 16 people testing positive.
Meanwehile, the Health Department says citizens repatriated from Wuhan were tested and all results have come back negative.
