CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Health MEC Nomafrench Mbombo is in self-quarantine as a precaution.

Mbombo says she was in several meetings with a French consul-general who tested positive for COVID-19.

Laurent Amar confirmed via social media that he has tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, Western Cape Premier Alan Winde says he was exposed to the MEC over a lengthy period but he says his medical team has advised him it's not yet necessary for him to be tested.
