Europe surpassed a hundred thousand daily reported COVID-19 cases for the first time on Thursday.

France, Russia and the UK are seeing no respite from mounting numbers of infections.

On Monday, British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is expect to unveil details of new restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus.

The WHO says governments trying to avoid lockdown while also breaking the chain of transmission could find this to be difficult.
